A well-known figure in the business community of northern France has passed away. Joël Leclercq, the iconic president of Igol since 1993, died at the age of 81. His funeral will be held this Friday, February 6th, at 11:00 AM at Notre-Dame Cathedral in Amiens. A major partner of the French Rally Championship for many years, as well as of renowned drivers such as Yoann Bonato, Patrick Rouillard, and Lucas Darmezin, Igol is deeply involved in the world of motorsport, and the influence of its long-serving president is undoubtedly a significant factor. A passionate motorsport enthusiast, he personally took the initiative to integrate these disciplines into the development of his company, thereby promoting values of excellence and performance. Igol is also involved in sports more broadly, notably as a loyal supporter of Amiens SC, a football club playing in Ligue 2.
Igol, a company faithfully involved in motorsports
Igol's history with motorsports goes back a long way. In the 80s and 90s, it wasn't uncommon to see the logos of the Picardy-based company on the racing suits of Philippe Alliot or Paul Belmondo, among others.
