Full-scale test session and event for enthusiasts of rally near La Joue du Loup. At the Dévoluy National Winter Rally, held this weekend, minds will already be on the upcoming Monte Carlo Rally, and some will take the opportunity to immerse themselves in their next international competitions. Winners last year in their first outing with the Hyundai i20N Rally1, Adrien fourmaux and Alexandre Coria, who achieved their best career result at the World Championships last week in Saudi Arabia, will defend their title and will once again face a Toyota GR Yaris Rally1: this time, it's the turn of the newcomers to the official team, Oliver Solberg and Elliott Edmondson, WRC2 World Champions and winners of the Rally Estonia in WRC.
Last year, Fourmaux had to overcome two-time World Champion Kalle Rovanperä to secure victory in his first rally under his new colors. These two crews won't be the only international drivers taking advantage of the opportunity to hone their skills: in the Rally2 class, Hayden Paddon, Mattéo Chatillon, Jonathan Hirschi, and Filip Kohn will be ones to watch. A total of 93 crews will be at the start of the event.
For this tenth edition, the organizers have opted for continuity, retaining the best elements of a recipe that has already proven successful. On the first leg, reminiscent of Monte Carlo 2024, a new feature will be introduced: for the first time, the Agnières-en-Dévoluy special stage will be run in reverse to close out the first day. Following this, three special stages, each to be run twice, await the competitors on the second leg, for a total of nearly 140 kilometers of timed sections. As for the weather, snow has fallen in the area in recent days; it remains to be seen whether it will stick and if temperatures will continue to fall. Finally, the rally will begin on Saturday late morning with the first special stage scheduled for 11:08 AM.
