In the lead from the first special, Matthieu Margaillan (Fabia RS Rally2-AMD Motorsport) passed this difficult first stage of the Castine without any problems. The leader of rally suffered a scare on SS 4 and damaged his front left door.

Laurent Pellier (i20 N Rally2-Team Bonneton HDG – 2C) seems at ease on the Lot specials. Confident behind the wheel of the Hyundai, Pellier was the best in SS 5 and 6 to finish the day in second place.

Winner of the Castine in 2021, Benjamin Clémençon (Polo GTI R5) was able to avoid the pitfalls of this first day to return to the parc ferme on the provisional podium.

Jean-Sébastien Vigion (PH Sport by Minerva Oil) continues his learning of the C3 Rally2 and is in fourth place ahead of Emmanuel Gacsou (Fabia Rally2 evo-AMD Motorsport).

Building on his victory in Vaucluse, Florent Todeschini (C3 Rally2-CHL Sport Auto) had a difficult first day. He suffered a problem with his front axle after a puncture in SS 2. The current leader of the French Championship will now fight to score valuable points at the end of the rally.

Six special stages, or 63,4 km of timed sections, await the crews for the second stage scheduled for this Sunday from 10:01 a.m.
