Vienne Rally: Mattéo Chatillon unstoppable

Unsurprisingly, Mattéo Chatillon and Maxence Cornuau won their rally at home in Chatellerault last weekend. Driving their Škoda Fabia RS Rally2, the duo competing this season in WRC2 secured a comfortable victory, setting the fastest time on all eight special stages. They finished more than 1 minute and 50 seconds ahead of Philippe and Alexandra Rageau, in an older generation Škoda Fabia Rally2, and Frédéric Meurant and Kévin Aumenier, also in a Czech car. Arthur Roché, there to fine-tune his preparation for SMRC4, finished fifth overall in his Peugeot 208 Rally4.

Baldomérien Rally: A successful debut for David Salanon

The two-time winner of the French Rally Cup Final was debuting, in Saint-Galmier, a Toyota GR Yaris Rally2 for the very first time. Navigated by Jérôme Degout, the Saint-Étienne native delivered a Clean Sheet by setting the fastest time on every stage of the rally. He finished ahead of former Rallye Jeunes winner Thibaud Cellier (Citroën C3 Rally2) and Guillaume Olivier (Volkswagen Polo R5 GTi). The only downside was the cancellation of the penultimate stage of the rally due to spectators positioned dangerously. This serves as a reminder of the importance of respecting the instructions of the marshals.

Rallye du Pays Avallonais: Quentin Gilbert continues his quest

The driver from Nancy has made qualifying for the 2026 French Rally Cup Final his main objective for the season. After his second-place finish at the Rallye de Meuse, he triumphed at Avallon at the wheel of his Škoda Fabia Rally2 Evo, emerging victorious from a battle with many contenders. Denis Millet, in his Volkswagen Polo R5 GTi, finished second, 32 seconds behind the day's winner, while Ludovic Godard, who came with his Porsche 991 GT3 Cup, takes third position in the overall standings while logically winning Group F-RGT.

Haute-Provence Rally: Julien Pontal opens his account

In Manosque last weekend, a Citroën C3 Rally2 was the car to drive if you hoped to reach the top of the timesheets. Julien Pontal, driving the Rossel Compétition entry, took the win, securing his first career victory. He finished ahead of another C3 Rally2, driven by Laurent Lacomy, as well as...Alpine Nicolas Schifano's A110 GT+. As a reminder, this was the third rally in the Provence Alpes Côte d'Azur Motorsport League after Roches Brunes and Vaison-la-Romaine last week. At the beginning of April, the region's top crews will compete in Grasse.

Bonaguil Rally: Jean-Michel da Cunha makes his mark

An eclectic field lined up at the start of the 39th Bonaguil Rally near Fumel in Haute-Garonne. Driving his venerable Ford Escort Cosworth, Jean-Michel da Cunha emerged victorious, finishing ahead of another Jean-Michel, Duché this time, at the wheel of a Renault Clio Ragnotti entered in F214. Yohan Saillat, driving his own team's Peugeot 208 Rally4, completed the podium. It's worth noting that no cars from Group F-RC2, the usual Rally2 and R5 class, were at the start.

Rallye du Pays Ajaccien: Paul-Antoine Santini winner

A popular event among Corsican drivers, the Rallye du Pays Ajaccien this year boasted a strong field of Rally2 and R5 cars, with ten vehicles complying with these regulations. Paul-Antoine Santini emerged victorious in his Citroën C3 Rally2, ahead of Pierre-Antoine Guglielmi, also in a C3 Rally2, and Jean-Joseph Galeani in a Hyundai i20N Rally2, which had won earlier this year at the Rallye des Roches Brunes.

Pays de Caux Rally – Lillebonne: Antoine Margely in the fog

Normandy was shrouded in thick fog last weekend. Antoine Margely, at the wheel of his venerable Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 9, had clearly anticipated this: from the very first special stage of the rally, he set the fastest time and seized the lead while his rivals stumbled. At the finish, he finished ahead of Jean-François Piau in his Škoda Fabia Rally2 and Grégory Vincent in a similar car. This is the seventh overall victory for Antoine Margely, a regular participant in the Normandy Motorsport League.
