Nicolas Schifano wins in Vaison-la-Romaine

Nicolas Schifano and Angeline Ravier made a perfect start to their 2026 season by winning yesterday in Vaison-la-Romaine. They will participate in the Rallye de Haute-Provence next weekend.

Nicolas Schifano wins in Vaison-la-Romaine

Clearly, it was better to pilot a Alpine A110 GT+ last weekend to win in rallyFollowing Ludovic Godard's victory at the Rallye de Meuse, it was Nicolas Schifano, co-driven as usual by Angeline Ravier, who triumphed at the Rallye de Vaison-la-Romaine, a popular event for crews from southeastern France. The win was decided on the final stage of the rally against Pierre Soreda and Andrea Kern, who finished just 1,6 seconds behind the winners in their Škoda Fabia Rally2 Evo, despite starting that final timed section as rally leaders. The podium was ultimately separated by only 5,3 seconds, with Frédérik Casciani and Stéphane Peyronel completing the top three, also driving a Fabia Rally2 Evo, and notably setting two fastest stage times. Contested over 39 kilometers as it is a regional rally, this 2026 edition certainly kept everyone on the edge of their seats until the very end.

Vaison-la-Romaine Rally: An extremely competitive event

Because the three crews mentioned above weren't the only ones to stand out; the final Top 7 of the rally were separated by just 10,8 seconds. In fourth place, only 0,1 seconds off the podium, was the winner of the Trophy. Alpine ELF Rallye 2025, Grégory Fontalba and his co-driver Stéphan Hermet came to test their car, now configured in GT+. They even set the fastest time of the rally. Winner of the Rallye des Roches Brunes, Jean-Joseph Galeani finished fifth, 0,8 seconds behind Fontalba and therefore less than a second from third place. Laurent Lacomy and Mathieu Descharne, in sixth, finished their rally just half a second behind Galeani, while Pierre-Paul Baltolu and Florian Chardon, on a Hyundai The older generation i20 R5s conceded 4,1 seconds to Lacomy to finish seventh in the rally.
