Vosges SS6 – Bonato resists, Margaillan and Camilli in the fight

The persistent heat and the increasingly uncertain grip kept the crews under pressure. Despite these conditions, the three leaders engaged in an intense duel… to within a tenth of a second during the 6th SS of the day. Yoann Bonato had the last word again, just 0 seconds ahead of Eric Camilli, and 4 seconds ahead of Hugo Margaillan. Three drivers neck and neck: the suspense remains high for the final part of the rally.

Still as comfortable in his performance, Bonato could even joke at the finish: "I think I'm going to suffer from priapism," said Benjamin Boulloud, laughing in complicity with his driver, still the overall leader with a 12" lead. The tension, however, remained very real behind.

Hugo Margaillan continues to maintain a very good pace, and isn't letting up: "It's a good day. The pace is interesting and the car is really good. The small circuit will be important," noted his co-driver Quentin Coppa, already looking ahead to the Géoparc Super Special. For Eric Camilli, the day could have been even better without the radio problems encountered previously: "It's a positive day despite the radio problem. I have a headache because of it. But the Hyundai is very present in this field,” acknowledged Thibault De La Haye.

Fighting on all floors

Behind the leading trio, Raphaël Astier remains consistent but still loses a little time, 3 seconds in this SS6. "It's a great feeling, but it's not really suited to theAlpine"The circuit is not simple either," admitted Frédéric Giraudet, a little reservedly.

Further back, Réhane Gany expressed a certain incomprehension despite his decent feelings: "I thought I had a good special. I don't really understand. I may have picked up a bad rhythm this afternoon," confided his co-driver Franck Le Floch. Lucas Darmezin, plagued by technical issues, was putting on a good show: "I have some problems with the dash, but the car is fine," tempered Julien Augé.

Among the pilots Alpine, several were facing difficulties. Quentin Gilbert, despite a solid 6th time, wondered about a suspicious noise: "I have a strange noise. The special went well," reported his navigator Guieu. Cédric Robert, for his part, had a close call: "We burned a big joker, we hit a right. The Michelins are resistant," whispered Frédéric Duval, relieved. Frédéric Godard, cautious, acknowledged room for improvement: "I'm too cautious in the dirty parts. There's work to be done," according to Augustin.

Hugo Juif, for his part, tried to raise his voice... but hit both sides a bit. "We wanted to attack, but it was too much. It's not much," Julien Carmille put into perspective, without too much seriousness.
