Separated by 0,5 seconds after the first three stages of the rally, Léo Rossel (C3 Rally2-PH Sport by Minerva Oil) and Yoann Bonato (C3 Rally2-Trajectus Motorsport) went on the attack for the second loop of this first day.

Alas, Bonato hit a snag in the formidable Corcieux special (SS 4). With a broken rim, he had to change wheels and lost more than two minutes. Victory is gone. The 2 Alpes driver must now come back to pick up a few points at the end of the rally.

Comfortable at the wheel of his C3 in these delicate conditions, Léo Rossel took advantage of his opponent's setbacks to have a lead of more than 26 seconds at the end of this first stage. Rossel must now manage the second stage tomorrow to seek a second victory this season.

Eric Camilli (i20 N Rally2-Team Bonneton HDG-2C Compétition) and Hugo Margaillan (i20 N Rally2-CHL Sport Auto) engaged in a great duel for second place.

After a “great scare” in SS 5, Camilli resisted pressure from Margaillan to retain provisional second place.

Lucas Darmezin is not missing his first steps in the French Championship at the wheel of the C3 Rally2. The Savoyard had an intelligent race and occupies provisional fourth place before starting the last day.

Leader of the two-wheel drive classification from the first special, Quentin Gilbert (A110 Rally) uses his knowledge of the terrain to return to Gérardmer in the Top 5 of the general classification. Lacking confidence, Cédric Robert (A110 Rally-Team Bonneton HDG-2C Compétition) occupies second place in the 2WD ranking and enters the Top 10 overall.
