Third of Rally Saudi Arabia behind the pilots Hyundai Thierry Neuville et Adrien fourmaux, Sébastien Ogier won his ninth world title in WRCfacing his teammates Elfyn Evans and Kalle Rovanperä. Despite missing three rallies, Ogier and his co-driver Vincent Landais clinched the title with a four-point lead over Elfyn Evans and Scott Martin.

Behind the three pilots Toyota who dominated the season, Ott Tänak secures fourth place in the championship, before taking a break from the WRC. Reigning world champion Thierry Neuville wins the very last rally of the season, in order to avoid suffering the same fate as Richard Burns in 2002, who was the last driver not to win the year following his world title.

After achieving his best result in the WRC (a second place), Adrien Fourmaux finished the season in seventh place overall, between the Toyotas of Takamoto Katsuta and Sami Pajari. The driver from northern France returns to Hyundai, with a renewed determination to secure his first victory.

Too bad, it seems to me that there is no young "Sébastien" capable of continuing the series of French titles.
