Every year, it's the same story. The JWRC candidates fight hard during 4 races to do well in the championship and then the Acropolis presents itself and everything is called into question. By awarding double points on this round, the organizers are sure to keep the suspense going until the Sunday of this final meeting. The competitors also record points for each best time, it will be possible to score a maximum of 65 points at Lamia (25 for the victory x2 and 15 SS). On paper, such a total means that 11 drivers out of the 13 present at the start can still be crowned. However, not all of them have the speed to achieve it and the vast majority would need the gods to get very angry with the leaders to succeed.
Given what they have shown so far, the two FIA Rally Star hopefuls, Romet Jürgenson and Taylor Gill are best placed to claim the crown. The Estonian has an 8-point lead that could make the difference with the Australian. Positioned equal at 3e rank, Ali Türkkan and Diego Dominguez have not given up. They are 20 lengths behind Gill, but the difficulty of the terrain and the battle that the top two in the standings will be forced to engage in could work in their favour. The Paraguayan will have an advantage over his rivals since he has already participated in two Acropolises with the victory in JWRC last year.
With a gap of over 30 points, Petr Borodin, Tom Rensonnet and Norbert Maior will need (many!) racing facts if they hope to win the big prize.
This still consists of 4 European participations in the WRC2 2025 at the wheel of a Ford Fiesta Rally2. Testing, tires and assistance will also be covered.
« With so many riders still in contention for the title, this promises to be one of the most exciting finals in Junior history. WRC, rejoices Maciej Woda, the head of the Championship. The merciless Greek special stages require patience and respect for the mechanics. As past years have shown, it is not always the fastest who wins. »
The future winner will have to negotiate 15 SS and 305,30 km timed on roads that are often very difficult for the small Ford Fiesta Rally3 maintained by M-Sport Poland.
