Sébastien Ogier was well on its way to increasing its lead in the fifth round of the WRC 2026 at the end of this last special stage of the morning, the longest of the rallyUnfortunately, the rain played tricks on him, with more moisture on the road at the end of the stage, giving Solberg the advantage by a mere tenth of a second. The Swede having made up considerable time in the second stage of the morning loop, Ogier now holds a 5,3-second lead over the Monte Carlo Rally winner in the overall standings. The son of the 2003 world champion did, however, slightly touch a guardrail on the descent, without causing any serious damage.

Having rejoined his teammates after a major setback in SS10, Elfyn Evans is playing a game of yo-yo and lost eight seconds in SS11. The Welshman remains 18,2 seconds behind the rally leader, but the top three are clearly a cut above. Proof of this is Takamoto Katsuta's time, fourth fastest on the stage, more than 17 seconds behind Evans. The championship leader, however, lost time right from the first section of the stage when he completed two laps of the roundabout instead of the one required by the regulations.

Once again, the five Toyota GR Yaris Rally1 achieved a quintuple on SS11. Alone Adrien fourmaux managed to break the Japanese hegemony on SS10, setting the fifth fastest time; otherwise, the Toyotas had achieved a five-peat on each stage. The driver from northern France is now firmly in sixth place in the rally, leading a battle Hyundai which almost looks more like another category, between the Toyota and categories M-Sport Ford! This afternoon, the same three special stages as this morning are expected.

In WRC2, Yohan Rossel dominated the morning, maintaining his overall lead in the category, 28,8 seconds ahead of Spaniard Alejandro Cachón. Léo Rossel remains third, this time ahead of Éric Camilli, who capitalized on his excellent SS11 to move into fourth place overall from Roberto Daprà.
