Central Europe Rally – SS1: Sébastien Ogier first leader ahead of Adrien Fourmaux

Championship leader Sébastien Ogier (Toyota) got his Central Europe Rally off to a good start, taking the first stage ahead of Adrien Fourmaux and Kalle Rovanperä.

After his victory at Rally from Chile, Sébastien Ogier starts the race in Central Europe with full throttle. The Gap native dominated the 12-kilometer race in western Germany, beating Adrien fourmaux and Kalle Rovanperä, tied 1.7s behind the eight-time world champion.

The Northerner is the only pilot Hyundai to have successfully entered the fray. Thierry Neuville, despite being the fastest in the Shakedown, struggled on a road that he felt was getting dirtier as he went along (7th, +4.2s). "I tried to be clean. The road gets dirty, but it's not a disaster. I'm satisfied with my passage." explains the reigning world champion in the heat of the moment.

His teammate Ott Tänak, Hyundai's best overall scorer, also failed to gain confidence by setting the 8th fastest time, 5.2s behind Sébastien Ogier. Adrien Fourmaux thus finished as the only driver outside Toyota in the top 6. The Ford Puma Rally1 of M-Sport They took 9th and 10th place, well behind the Hyundai and Toyota. Takamoto Katsuta, who suffered from extreme heat in the final corner, had to settle for sixth place, while Sami Pajari was fourth.

Meet at 18 p.m. for the second special of the day, which will take place on the same 12.83 km course called Golf und Therme.
