Elfyn Evans and Scott Martin put in a remarkable performance in Africa. In a demanding edition, they combined speed, reliability, and a bit of luck to claim victory with Toyota. After a podium finish in Monte Carlo and a victory in Sweden, Evans appears to be a serious contender for the title.

Elfyn Evans – Scott Martin, the kings of the savannah in Kenya

Like the lions that recently decided to settle in the Sleeping Warrior site, northwest of Naivasha town, Elfyn Evans took his time. He didn't immediately charge into battle and attack, risking breaking everything on his mount. Nor did he play a waiting game, waiting for the others to get into trouble. For his plan to have any chance of working, he needed to be in close contact and appear as a danger to his rivals. The trap lived up to its promise. While he cut through the ring with almost no trouble, all his opponents bit the dust.
