The Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) has appointed a new single sustainable fuel supplier for the World Rally Championship from the fourth round of the 2025 season, the Rally Canary Islands (April 24-25). TotalEnergies will thus be responsible for the supply of gasoline until the end of the season WRC.
The FIA's announcement follows the withdrawal of the previous supplier, P1 Performance Fuels GmbH, which has entered into receivership and can no longer fulfill its contractual obligations to the championship.

The FIA responded quickly by signing an agreement with the French company to ensure a stable supply for the remainder of the current financial year, while maintaining its environmental objectives. TotalEnergies already has a major agreement in the world of motorsport, supplying the FIA World Championship.Endurance and the European Truck Racing Championship.
This change of supplier will not affect the current event, the Safari Rally Kenya. The sustainable fuel was already in transit before the announcement regarding P1 Performance Fuels GmbH, and the FIA has ensured that the fuel is delivered and distributed for the smooth running of the event.
TotalEnergies will therefore begin supplying its sustainable fuel starting with the Canary Islands Rally for priority drivers before rolling out distribution to all crews at the following events of the season. Regarding the 2026-2028 period, the call for tenders for the exclusive supply of fuel in the WRC is closed, with the FIA currently reviewing the applications received. An announcement will be made at a later date.

So what will the other (non-priority) drivers be driving in the Canary Islands Rally? And who are the priority drivers, actually? The WRC1s?
