The hinterland of Nice is the garden of Sébastien OgierA native of Gap, the driver is launching his partial season on his home turf. The 2025 edition begins with a scare. In SS3, run at night, his Toyota GR Yaris Rally1 goes into a skid on a corner. It hits a fence post at door level and ends up perpendicular to the road, narrowly avoiding plunging forwards or backwards into a ditch. Struggling to engage reverse, Ogier curses himself and the amateur fireworks crew who were blushing in the dark. This free warning throws the crew of the No. 17 Yaris into a frenzy. Fortunately, the next two stages turn into a demonstration of skill, the Toyota playing the consistency card on a surface with variable grip.
