To compete in the final season of the World Rally Championship (WRC) with the Rally1, the team Toyota has chosen to make very few changes to its roster. The announcement of Kalle Rovanperä's departure to Super Formula in 2026 will allow the Japanese manufacturer to welcome Oliver Solberg, while Sébastien Ogier is preparing to continue the adventure.

Long denied by all parties, the arrival of the Swede seemed inevitable. Winner of the rally After his debut in Estonia with the Yaris Rally1 this summer, it was impossible for the manufacturer to let such talent slip away. With a full program at his disposal, the 2025 WRC2 world champion is resuming his journey towards the top, where he hopes to one day join his father's legacy. While it's unlikely he'll be able to replicate his Estonian performance at every rally, he's certainly a contender for victory in countries like Sweden, Finland, and Chile.

« In addition to aiming for the WRC2 title, we had the opportunity to compete in the Rally Estonia with the Toyota team.Oliver explained. Knowing now that we'll be part of this team for a full Rally1 season is a dream come true. We'll have to be realistic, though. We still have a lot to learn with Rally1, but I'm sure we'll have a lot of fun. »

Apart from Oliver Solberg, there will be no changes in the team next year with Elfyn Evans, Takamoto Katsuta and Sami Pajari who will complete all 14 rounds and Sébastien Ogier who is returning for a partial program the details of which have not been revealed.

A great talent, as good as ROVENPERA on dirt but not on asphalt; however, good luck to the engineers...
