The bad news is piling up for Pierre-Louis Loubet. While he seemed headed for a multi-round program with a Ford Fiesta from the M-Sport team, the Corsican has had to withdraw from Sardinia and will also not be at the start of the Acropolis.

After two difficult seasons in 2023 on the Puma Rally1 and last year with a Skoda Fabia RS Rally2, Pierre-Louis Loubet made a surprising return to Portugal. At the wheel of a Ford Fiesta Rally2 of the team M-Sport, the Corsican had made an interesting comeback. With a car that had not seen any changes for several years, PLL had managed to take a 7e suitable rank.

With Loris Pascaud at his side, Loubet could have expected an even better result in Sardinia on a terrain he knew well and facing a field that was missing several individuals. The Fiesta crew was ultimately not included in the starting list. In an accident during reconnaissance, the co-driver broke several ribs and was unable to participate in the event. With a heavy heart, the two Frenchmen withdrew, looking ahead to the next event in Greece.

They will also not be in Athens next week (June 26-29). While Pascaud is fit enough to tackle the roads around Loutraki and Lamia, a lack of funds has forced the Corsican to cancel this trip. This will undoubtedly give him time to look for solutions to successfully attend Estonia (July 17-20).

While Pierre-Louis Loubet has been accustomed to struggles since the beginning of his career, this new episode will once again test his motivation. Having demonstrated on several occasions that he has the resources to bounce back and that his passion for rally is still going strong, the 28-year-old driver will do everything to compete in other rounds this year.
