This is a surprising announcement. While it seemed difficult to imagine that Pierre-Louis Loubet would manage to recover from a rather disastrous last campaign, he is preparing to compete in several rounds of the WRC2. Between errors, the unreliability of his car, and an incompatibility of mood with his co-driver (Nicolas Gilsoul, Editor's note), he had already experienced a disappointing year in 2023 with the Puma Rally1. He wanted to relaunch last year through a few events in a Fabia Rally2 from the Toksport team. It didn't work out. The mechanics and several mistakes caused the end of this program after the Acropolis. It was at that moment that the end of his career was predicted by many observers. When recalling this moment, Pierre Louis is not offended. They probably forgot who my father is, he laughs. My dad is Yves Loubet, who was known for never giving up. If only because he always supported me even when I was at my lowest, I don't have the right to give up everything. I won't hide from you that there were dark moments. I told myself that it was going to be difficult to bounce back. You inevitably ask yourself questions, but I don't give up and I continue to believe in it. I may be someone who is a little less fortunate than others, but I tell myself that it will end up working in our favor. We must also recognize that what we do is not a prison sentence and that, on the contrary, we are lucky to be able to express ourselves in this way. I cling to everything positive that I have experienced so far and I am sure that perseverance will pay off one day. "Besides the surprise of seeing his return, there is also the surprise of seeing Pierre-Louis do it with M-Sport, a team with which he could have been at odds after some disappointments in 2023. The Frenchman will however line up in a Ford Fiesta.
Back with M-Sport
« Even after 2023, I still kept in touch with Malcolm Wilson, he explains. We had some discussions and then I told them that I thought I could do some interesting things in Rally2. When I asked them what would be possible, they expressed their interest and it came together quite quickly. I was touched by the way it went. Malcolm and Richard Millener welcomed us well. They were really happy to tell us "we're going back." They didn't have to. I'm obviously happy about this opportunity because M-Sport is the team I've driven with the most, so I'm delighted that it's going back with them. I went to England to test the Fiesta and I was pleasantly surprised. Everyone told me it wasn't a good car, but I didn't get that feeling. "While the American has probably not undergone any development in recent seasons, she remains effective provided she manages to get the most out of her. Adrien fourmaux had succeeded in 2023 and recently Romet Jürgenson achieved good things by winning the 2e BRC round in England. Pierre Louis is aware of all this, which pushes him to plan ahead. This car allowed Adrien Fourmaux to relaunch his career, he explains, So there is potential. Will we be able to exploit it, I don't know? It might not work, but I think we have to give it our all to have no regrets. I can't talk about a goal because I have no idea where I stand. In the same way, I'm not going to dwell on the program. We'll be in Portugal and then in Sardinia. After that, we'll see. "Within a list that looks very attractive in Portugal, including several French drivers, Pierre-Louis Loubet will quickly be able to determine his potential with this car.

I'm happy for PY Loubet...!! A return to WR2 to bounce back better like Fournaux, that's all I wish for him. Only M Sport would react like that, bravo to this Team that fights all year long..!!
