Pirelli celebrates its departure at Monza

Sole supplier to the WRC since 2021, Pirelli has experienced its final season in the WRC. To celebrate the end of this cycle, the Italian manufacturer will take advantage of the Monza Rally Show, where the WRC teams and some drivers will be present. As always, the program mixes competition and show.

Pirelli celebrates its departure at Monza

A few days after the rally Japan (November 21-24), the Monza Rally Show will be held on the famous Lombard circuit (December 6-8). The latter being located just twenty kilometers north of Milan, it was the ideal place for Pirelli to close the 2021-2024 chapter in WRC. Some design and decision-making offices are based in Milan, as is the Pirelli Foundation. While the list of crews present has not yet been revealed, the teams entered in Rally1 will be there. There will also be a strong Rally2 field. Monza is often an opportunity for "recreation" for some drivers, will there be any surprises?

If the rally had left the circuit when it was on the WRC calendar (2020-2021), this time it will be entirely contested in the park where the track is located. The shakedown will take place on Friday morning from 8:30 am on a 2,5 km section where competitors will be able to make 2 passes. The first special stages are scheduled for the afternoon. After the 5 SS on Saturday, there will be 2 more on Sunday morning before the Master Show from 14:00 pm.

Since the race is without stakes, this will allow the protagonists to give their all and ensure the spectacle in this mythical place. This will probably be the last time that it will be publicly possible to see Rally1 equipped with Pirelli. From 2025 and for 3 years, it will indeed be Hankook who will be the sole supplier of the WRC.
