At the start of the 7e meeting of the season, the situation of the championship is misleading. If Yohan Rossel prances in the lead with 23 points ahead of 2e Jan Solans, we must not neglect that the Frenchman has already competed in 4 of the 7 events on his program. Among the favorites for the title, the Gardois is the one who has run the most since January. Present in Poland, Oliver Solberg and Fergus Greensmith will begin their 4e round of the season. Having both given up in Portugal, they no longer really have any room for error. We will have to see what their tactics will be on the fast special stages in Poland. On paper, they should suit Solberg better than his neighbor in the box, but Gus has the advantage of having already competed in this rally three times while his opponent discovers the ground.
In addition to the two Toksport crews, other competitors will probably play the leading roles. Sami Pajari will seek to confirm the confidence that Toyota is preparing to bear witness to it by lining it up in Finland on the Yaris Rally1. The young Finn won on these special stages in 2021 when he was in ERC Junior on a Fiesta Rally4. This experience combined with his practice of fast roads will make him a very serious candidate.
The same goes for Nikolay Gryazin. Driving a Citroën C3 Rally2, the latter won on this terrain in 2018 when the event was on the ERC program. Having only scored points twice so far, he represents a real threat for Rossel.
Among the 22 entered in WRC2 in Poland, we must not neglect the local Kajetan Kajetanowicz, Josh McErlean who is improving race after race or even Roope Korhonen, Teemu Suninen and Robert Virves who will use their practice of fast roads to aim the podium. Finally, Pierre-Louis Loubet will try to record his first result this year. 19 special stages are on the program with just over 303 km timed.
