In a few hours, the competitors of WRC will begin the second round of their season in Sweden. The last two days were focused on reconnaissance of the 300,66-kilometer course. Unsurprisingly, snow and ice were present, but several crews competing in the event noted a slight lack of snow on the special stages that will be tackled over the weekend. Nothing too alarming in itself, although it does mean that the competitors' second passes might become a little trickier due to the sweeping action of the cars and, as we mentioned a few days ago, ice that is a little thinner than expected because the weather conditions of the last few weeks haven't favored the development of thicker layers. The risk, therefore, is seeing some ruts form, particularly due to ice being torn up by studded tires.

Temperatures will remain cool this weekend in Umeå, so there's no risk of ice melt like in previous editions of the race. Rally From Sweden further south to Torsby. As a reminder, the first special stage of the rally will take place this evening in Umeå, a timed stage of just over 10 kilometers so everyone can warm up before Friday, the longest day of the rally, with its 124,88 kilometers to cover.
