The 2025 Rally Portugal program

This week, from May 15 to 18, we head to Portugal for the fifth round of the WRCThe Portuguese event is the first in a series of seven consecutive gravel rallies. It will consist of 24 special stages, covering a total distance of 344,50 km. It will take place around Matosinhos, north of Porto. Note that the Shakedown will take place on the morning of Thursday, May 15. And that the rally will begin Thursday evening with a super-special at 20 p.m., of 2,94 km.

It will end on Sunday around 15 p.m. This will follow the Powerstage around the Fafe region, where, as every year, several legendary special stages will take place. In addition, on Friday, the biggest day of the weekend with nearly 150 km on the program, two new special stages will be on the menu. Some competitors will even contest the final special at night.

On the side entered in Portugal, there are twelve Rally1 : five Toyota, three Hyundai and four M-Sport Ford. The Japanese team, victorious in the first four rounds of the season, will be able to count on Elfyn Evans, Kalle Rovanperä, Takamoto Katsuta and Sami Pajari to continue their efforts. Not forgetting the Frenchman Sébastien Ogier, the record holder for the number of victories in the event. The Korean team, for its part, intends to put an end to Toyota's hegemony with Thierry Neuville, Ott Tänak and the tricolor Adrien fourmaux.

Finally, still on the French side, we'll be following the return to WRC2 of Pierre-Louis Loubet, in a Ford Fiesta Rally2 from the M-Sport team. The Rossel brothers, Yohan and Léo, will also be there at the wheel of their Citroën. The former leads the championship with two victories, in Monte Carlo and the Canary Islands. Furthermore, in this same category, we'll find no fewer than 47 crews!
