Elfyn Evans, leader of the WRC and two-time winner of the Rally Japan, and so the scene is set for the 13th round of the season. Without winning, the Welshman managed to regain the championship lead after the Central Europe Rally, notably benefiting from the off-road excursion of Sébastien OgierRelegated to second place, tied with Kalle Rovanperä, the Frenchman will have to bounce back in Japan, while the overall leader will have to prove that he is capable of maintaining his level of form in the role of the hunted.

In terms of scheduling, this new edition of the Rally Japan once again presents French and European spectators with some rather unusual circumstances. Early morning, late evening, or even the middle of the night, you'll need to adapt if you want to follow the events live. Note that after the second special stage, a third will begin at 00:20 (French time) on Friday. As usual, summaries of the special stages, key events, and other updates will be available throughout the weekend on AUTOhebdo.fr.
