It is on the sidelines of the last round of the season of Formula E, in London, that the exchange took place. All in a promotional video released by the Korean tire brand, which supplies tires for the all-electric championship and the World Rally Championship.
This is an opportunity for Hankook to highlight the fact that the brand supplies tires to two FIA world championships, and for the automotive body to share the same track with two completely different categories. Adrien fourmaux was able to drive a Gen3 EVO Formula E car for the first time, while Maximilian Günther slipped into the cockpit of the Hyundai i20 Rally1 from the north.
"The WRC is open to innovation and, from the very beginning, that is exactly what motivated this project. It was fantastic for us to be able to join Formula E, to discover their world and to share with them the thrill of the WRC. Of course, this would not have been possible without Hankook, with whom we continue to grow and evolve during the first year of our successful collaboration.", said Arne Dirks, Marketing Director of WRC Promoter GmbH.
“As the world’s most progressive and competitive motorsport, Formula E has always been bold and ambitious in its approach to success. However, what is at the heart of our DNA is pushing the boundaries of performance. This film shows that we are not only here to disrupt the rules and innovate, but also to develop cutting-edge expertise and new technologies.”, said Alberto Longo, co-founder and CEO of Formula E.
