Yohan Rossel believes he deserves a chance behind the wheel of a Rally1

Two wins (Monte-Carlo and Canary Islands), a podium (Portugal), and a provisional first place in the championship after six rounds. This is Yohan Rossel's impressive record as the mid-season in WRC2 approaches. The Frenchman, like many promising young drivers in this category, makes no secret of the fact that he has only one dream and one goal: to reach the premier class in the medium to short term.

In any case, the man who currently drives a Citroën C3 admits to doing everything necessary to have a chance at the wheel of a Rally1. "I think I deserve it, and my co-pilot [Arnaud Dunand] too ", assures Rossel in an interview with the media DirtFish. 

"We work, I think, like a Rally1 crew. We have the same conditions. For now, I don't know if I have the level to be world champion in WRC. But if you don't have the opportunity, you'll never know.", he tells our colleagues.

Rossel wants to "be at the top" in WRC2 first

For the tricolor, everything is clear in his head. "For me, the plan is simply to be as fast as possible against the best, and for sure it's not in WRC2. But at the moment, I'm learning a lot and I think I'm also improving.", he further asserts to DirtFish.

Before continuing, considering a very specific timing for the sequel: "If you want to be a real world champion, you have to be in Rally1. The plan now is to be at the top of WRC2, at every level. If you are at the top of WRC2, you can be ready for 2027."

Meanwhile, Yohan Rossel, who “play to win on all surfaces” This season, he will have to fight to add his name to the category's list of winners. Currently, he is only seven points ahead of Sweden's Oliver Solberg.
