The second special of Rally Central European Championship took place this Thursday evening at nightfall. Victorious in the first section of the day, the Frenchman Toyota opened the route. Only Kalle Rovanperä was faster than the championship leader at the end of the 12,83 km.

“I don’t remember seeing anyone prepare for a stage like this, confided the Finn at the finish of this second special. We had two hours to prepare. The gaps will be small, everyone will be at their limit. I slept on the floor during the regrouping, no problem."

Kalle Rovanperä set the benchmark time of 6:23.8, ahead of Ogier of a tenth. Ott Tänak (Hyundai) completed the podium one second ahead of the other two Hyundais Thierry Neuville, relegated to 2,2 seconds and Adrien fourmaux 2,3 seconds behind. In the general classification, Fourmaux is in third place, 3,9 seconds behind his compatriot Ogier.

The Central Europe Rally resumes this Friday morning at 8:30 a.m. with SS3.
