Ott Tänak and Martin Järveoja of Hyundai Motorsport suffered an accident during SS3 Saarikas 1 on Friday morning at Rally of Finland, ninth round of the FIA World Rally Championship.
Their Hyundai i20 N Rally1 Hybrid left the road at high speed in tricky and slippery conditions just over 2km from the finish. The car then rolled over and hit a tree. After the accident, Tänak and Järveoja got out of the car themselves without assistance and the stage was immediately red flagged to allow medical services to attend the scene.

Tänak and Järveoja were quickly treated by the medical team. The second named was taken to hospital by helicopter for further examination. The pilot and co-pilot are doing well, but Järveoja will have to spend the night in hospital for observation as a precaution.
As a result, the #8 crew will not return to the track for the remainder of the Rally Finland weekend.
