Years go by and the situation for the Koreans in the Monte Carlo Rally remains largely unchanged: They still have technical problems (which are understandable, given this year's terrain) and reliability issues (hardly acceptable), which Tanak's high level of commitment had more or less masked. The uncertainty (increasingly less pronounced and increasingly influenced by the communication surrounding the WEC) regarding the brand's future WRC program, along with questionable tactical choices (bringing Paddon out of retirement for a Monte Carlo Rally!), will likely make this season difficult to follow; unless the internal rivalries at Toyota and, secondarily, the progress of the M-Sport juniors are enough to create a spectacle and competition worthy of a world championship.
