As has been the case for several seasons, the team M-Sport will have waited until the last moment to announce that she will be at the start of the next championship. There will therefore be 3 teams with Rally1s and this should result in at least 8 cars in this category. It's far from enough, but we'll have to make do.
Not having the means to run a top driver, Malcolm Wilson decided to return to one of his favorite roles, that of trainer. It's worked in the past with Mikko Hirvonen, Jari-Matti Latvala and more Ott Tänak. The boss of Dovenby Hall has lost a little of his flair in recent years so we must hope that the pair he has brought together will be a good vintage.

These are not strictly speaking novices. Adrien fourmaux has already completed an almost full season with Rally1 in 2022 (10 races). At 28, the Northerner is offered a new chance at this level. He must know how to seize it while avoiding the pitfalls of the past.
« Getting this steering wheel was the main goal for 2023, did he declare. I'm delighted to come back for a whole championship with the Puma. I have enjoyed being involved in the development of the Fiesta Rally2 over the last few months and I think it will help me for Rally1. It will be a very interesting competition for everyone, especially with the new points system. We have a real plan to work hard and get the best results possible, to support the team and get them back to where they deserve to be. I am also very proud to be the only French driver to compete in an entire season at the highest level. » There will be no communication problem with his teammate who also speaks French.
M-Sport trusts young people in WRC
Appearing twice at the wheel of the Puma Rally1 in Chile and in Central Europe, Grégoire Munster (24 years old) displayed good performances. For the son of Bernard Munster who plays under the Luxembourg flag (his mother's nationality), this will be the first full year. He will have to discover many aspects, but if he manages to reproduce the same performances as those he performed with Jourdan Serderidis' car, he should be able to take advantage of this year of learning.
« The two races behind the wheel of the Ford helped me a lot to prepare for 2024, he explained. Working as part of the M-Sport team has also been incredibly helpful. Being in WRC2 was an interesting lesson. The objective will first be to obtain good results and increase the pace, rally after the rally, try not to make mistakes and gain all the necessary experience. The challenge is big, but I’m really looking forward to it. »
The two men will begin their preparation for Monte-Carlo (January 25-28) a few days before the event.
