Back in the world after more than 6 months of absence, Pierre-Louis Loubet had prepared well for his event. During the rally Aboboreira raced a few days ago in Portugal, the Corsican and his new co-driver Loris Pascaud were able to work on their cohesion. The first stages in WRC2 showed that their collaboration is already working very well.

Second at the end of the Thursday evening superspecial, PLL had the misfortune of receiving a very unfair fixed time in SS2 which he was unable to compete in due to the interruption of the timer. Distanced by 18'' without even having driven, he went on the attack again and his two best times (SS3-SS6) demonstrated that he is already at ease behind the wheel of the Skoda Fabia RS Rally2. The 27-year-old driver was only 5''7 from the podium when he made a mistake in SS7.

« In a sharp turn, he explained, we were at 40 km/h when the car put itself on two wheels. We rolled over and had the misfortune of falling into a very deep hole from which we were unable to get out. We are obviously very disappointed. Until then, everything was working well even if the time received after the time trial that we did not race was very unfavorable. We will have to continue to work in particular to understand why everything goes well when we run small events or in raids and why these types of incidents happen to us in world championships. »

Having not left on Saturday morning, the crew will quickly have to find solutions since their next appearance, already decisive, will take place in a few days in Sardinia (May 30-June 2).
