This second experience definitely goes much better. Far from the pressure of his first adventure in WRC, partially started in 2021 before moving on to a full program in 2022, Adrien fourmaux appears more relaxed than ever.
His return to WRC2 allowed him to regain his health and, above all, gain maturity. His good performances in the anteroom of the rally world championship and his national title on the other side of the Channel pushed M-Sport to (re)promote it. This time in a very different atmosphere. The departure ofOtt Tänak and the arrival of rookie Grégoire Munster propelled the Northerner to the role of leader. And the least we can say is that he handles it quite well.
If he is still chasing his first victory, logical given the differential between M-Sport and its competitors (Hyundai et Toyota), Adrien Fourmaux achieved great performances. Diligently and without taking too many risks, the Habs collected 4 podiums during the first part of the season. To the delight of Richard Millener, delighted to also be able to count on Grégoire Munster, who is progressing little by little.
« I'm really happy with the first half of the season, admits M-Sport head. Adrien's return (Fourmaux) in the team and his progress in speed, approach and maturity has been one of our strengths so far in 2024. He has been fantastic, but there has been so much more. It's fantastic to work with Grégoire and see his confidence and performance progress, then there was Mārtiņš (Sesks) in Poland and Latvia, two fantastic events.
Above all, I am very proud of the entire M-Sport team. Once again, I feel like we are outperforming our category and showing the world what this team and Puma Rally1 are capable of. We know we have a car capable of winning and that we have crews and a team with the ability and desire to do so. The repair of Grégoire's car in Finland is an example of the dedication, tenacity, resilience and capabilities of this structure. We only had four hours and the team performed another miracle, as usual. We will build on this for the second half of the season and there is more to come from us. » It's up to them to continue this momentum when Greece resumes in just a few days (September 5-8).
