After a year of hiatus, where the Rally Estonia was disputed within the framework of theERC, the European championship, the Baltic round regains the status of world rally, replacing its neighbor, the Rally of Latvia. Organized around the city of Tartu, the rally will take place over 308 timed kilometers, on fast forest roads, which are sometimes reminiscent of the Rally of Finland.
Eleven Rally1s will be at the start of this Rally Estonia, including Oliver Solberg, who will take the wheel of one of the five Toyota GR Yaris lined up. Sébastien Ogier is not on the entry list for this eighth round of the season, unlike all the other usual drivers in the premier class of WRCChampionship leader Elfyn Evans will be in charge of opening the road on Friday.
Out of a total of 41 cars entered, Estonia will be an opportunity for a good result for WRC2 drivers, as the top six in the championship will not be at the start. Solberg will therefore be there in Rally1, while all his rivals have missed out, as WRC2 drivers must select a limited number of events to participate in throughout the season. Seventh in the championship, Finland's Roope Korhonen will have the opportunity to win for the first time this season.
