Who will succeed Romet Jügenson in JWRC next year? (Photo: Nikos Katikis/DPPI)The WRC promoter has just revealed the 2025 JWRC calendar. The youngsters will once again have to compete in 5 races, within which there are changes compared to 2024.
The JWRC championship was one of the nice surprises of the 2024 season. With 19 cars present at the first round, the category has experienced a renewed interest this year that is not easy to explain. The numbers have faded a little in the months that followed (13 cars at the Acropolis for the final), but this process is classic. The level of the JWRC has also been very high during the 5 meetings and the winner, Romet Jürgenson, seems promising. Will the 2025 winner be in the same vein? The program to determine the future champion has just been unveiled and it includes changes.
For the identical Ford Fiesta Rally3s, the opening will again take place in Sweden (February 13-16) which will allow the hopefuls to also experience snow and ice. This will be followed by three rallies on gravel, in Portugal where the JWRC has not been since 2022, in Greece for the Acropolis and finally in Finland. This trio will offer a good sample of the difficulties encountered on this surface with fast, dusty and brittle.
In order to offer the full range to the candidates, the final meeting will take place on the tarmac of the CER. As has been the practice for several years, the latter rally will be given a coefficient of 2 which will be likely to call everything into question.
The reward for 2026 appears unchanged. The 2025 JWRC champion will be able to participate in 4 races in WRC2 in a Ford Fiesta Rally2.
