It's already time for the World Rally Championship drivers to get back to work. After a Monte Carlo Rally that lived up to all expectations and was widely acclaimed by fans of the sport, Sweden hosts the second round of the season this week in Umeå. There too, the Scandinavian snow should provide a constant spectacle with very fast stages, winding through the Swedish forests, where the surface specialists should have a field day. The reigning World Rally Champion Sébastien Ogier is not part of the trip: legitimately, his teammate Elfyn Evans is the favorite even though all eyes will be on the leader of the provisional championship standings, Oliver Solberg, winner at Monte Carlo and winner of the WRC2 round last year in Sweden.

In WRC2, many competitors will also launch their respective seasons at this event. These include Teemu Suninen, Roope Korhonen, and the young prodigy Tuukka Kauppinen, for whom 2026 will be his first international campaign. Among this contingent, two French drivers will be present: Eliott Delecour and Mattéo Chatillon, both eager to bounce back after a difficult Monte Carlo Rally. Rally Sweden also hosts the first round of the Junior WRCCalle Carlberg, competing at home, is the overwhelming favorite this season after his Junior title win in ERC last year. Note that JWRC competitors will also be able to compete against drivers entered in WRC3, with equivalent vehicles.
