Could the WRC finally be on the path to change? At Toyota in any case 2024 will mark a break. While the liveries of the cars have all looked the same since 2017, the Japanese will sport a new decoration from Monte-Carlo.

History has been repeating itself since 2017 and the return of the Asian giant to the World Rally Championship. Every year there was a hint of disappointment that the Yaris WRC then Rally1 hardly changed their decoration. There was indeed a small variation between 2020 and 2021 with a slightly different arrangement of the red and black spots, but nothing very significant. This time it's more radical.

From January, it will no longer be possible to confuse the seasons. Toyota Gazoo Racing announces that there are two concepts behind the new matte black liveries that the Yaris Rally1 hybrid (but also the GR010 Hybrid) will wear in the WRC. The first is " Speed » which affirms the rejection of defeat. The second is “ Prototype », which reflects the desire to manufacture ever more efficient sports cars and to continue moving forward. The people responsible for creating this design also had to take into account the comfort of the crews. This is why the cars will be fitted with a reflective silver roof which should help keep crews cool.

While Takamoto Katsuta and Elfyn Evans will operate this car with its new dress, Sébastien Ogier and Kalle Rovanperä will benefit from it occasionally.
