Fabio Quartararo was born on April 20, 1999, in Nice, France. Passionate about motorcycles from a young age, he moved to Spain at a young age to train in local competitions. This performance opened the doors to MotoGP in 2019 with the Yamaha SRT satellite team.
In his first season in MotoGP, he impressed with his speed, securing several podiums and six pole positions. Although he didn't win a race that year, he finished fifth in the championship and was voted best rookie. In 2020, he claimed his first MotoGP victories but lacked consistency towards the end of the season, finishing only eighth overall.
In 2021, he joined the official Yamaha team and had an exceptional season. With five wins and great consistency, he became the first Frenchman to be crowned MotoGP world champion. In 2022, he fought for the title again against Francesco Bagnaia but finished runner-up after a more complicated second half of the season.
