VIDEO – Pedro Acosta challenges Oscar Piastri in karting

While he will return to the track with Tech3 (KTM) near Misano (Italy), the rookie of this 2024 season of MotoGP, Pedro Acosta, took a break on four wheels to measure himself against another young driver who is currently excelling in Formula 1, in the person ofOscar piastri.

At an event organized by the accessories brand Quad Lock, the pilot McLaren improvised as a driving instructor for someone who was discovering the karting.

"I'm more nervous than before getting on a MotoGP, because I have less control over the situation" Acosta confided before taking to the track.

Concerns quickly erased by the skills of the number 31 whose ability to adapt to machines that are unknown to him needs no introduction. A natural talent that did not fail to impress Oscar Piastri.

"In the last few laps you were really fast, I can honestly tell you that you are good at driving a kart" adds the Australian.

The two drivers did not fail to compare their respective disciplines, starting with the differences in their helmets. Before discussing the physical skills needed to perform in both categories. A factor that surprised Pedro Acosta, who did not expect to have to take on such a physically demanding challenge.

"This thing is super fast. By the third round, I was already completely dead. I'm not that far off though, give me a few more days!"
