Fermín Aldeguer will not participate in the MotoGP tests at Sepang

Gresini has confirmed that Fermín Aldeguer will be absent from the first test session, scheduled for February 3-5 in Sepang, Malaysia. Álex Márquez will therefore be the team's sole representative in Malaysia.

This follows the crash of the best rookie of 2025 at the Aspar circuit during a training session in early January, where he fractured his left femur. Aldeguer underwent surgery on January 9 in Barcelona. However, no announcement has been made regarding his participation in the tests scheduled for Buriram from February 21 to 22, one week before the official start of the 2026 season. MotoGP.

After a 2025 season marked by three podium finishes at Le Mans, Austria and Mandalika, where No. 54 triumphed, Fermín Aldeguer was given a GP25 for the 2026 season, while his garage neighbor, honorary vice-champion behind his brother Marc, got one of Ducati's GP26s.

While this injury jeopardizes his chances of participating in the Buriram tests, it will not necessarily seal his 2026 season. As a reminder, Marc Márquez started his 2010 season a month after a leg fracture, still winning the first ten rounds.
