Formula 1 disrupts MotoGP schedule at Misano

Le MotoGP will be heading to Misano (Italy) for the second consecutive time this weekend. The discipline will contest the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix there. Official name given to the race that is also nicknamed "Misano 2", which arrived as a replacement for the Indian Grand Prix after its cancellation.

Although this change of programme was made a few months ago, the organisers of the championship realised a little late in the day a minor constraint, which will however change the course of the weekend.

While the Indian Grand Prix was scheduled to take place early in the morning for European spectators, the Marco Simoncelli circuit should have seen the 22 starters start the main race at around 14pm. As is the case for most races held on the continent.

However, this is the time when the Grand Prix of Formula 1 in Singapore, this Sunday. Event which will start at 20:00 p.m. on site.

Schedule changes in Misano

To avoid any overlap between the two categories, and to maximize their chances of achieving good audiences, the start of each Sunday race has been brought forward by one hour. Thus, the MotoGP Grand Prix of Emilia Romagna will start at 13:00. The Warm-UP, initially scheduled from 9:40 to 09:50, will also take place one hour earlier (full program available here).

The Moto3 and Moto2 races are no exception. These support categories will start at 10:00 and 11:15 respectively.

This change of programme could have been to the detriment of another category. This week, the Superbike World Championship also plans to take place on Italian soil, in Cremona.

A new weekend in which MotoGP and WSBK overlap, but whose schedules have also been aligned. The second race of the weekend will thus be held at 14:00 p.m. This will offer the possibility only to motorcycle enthusiasts not to have to choose.
