Jorge Martín's 2025 season took another dramatic turn. The Aprilia rider crashed in the opening meters of the Japanese Grand Prix, completely misfiring his braking, before colliding with his teammate Marco Bezzecchi. Both saw their races abruptly end in the first corner, with serious physical consequences for the reigning world champion.

Jorge Martín was immediately taken to the Motegi circuit medical center and underwent extensive tests. Minutes after the race, Aprilia released the sad diagnosis: "Jorge Martin underwent medical examinations at the circuit's medical center. X-rays revealed a displaced fracture of his right clavicle. The rider will be transferred by helicopter to Dokkyo Medical University Hospital for a CT scan to better assess the situation."

The number 1 will therefore be absent for the rest of the Japanese Grand Prix weekend, unable to start tomorrow morning's race. The situation is all the more difficult for Aprilia as Marco Bezzecchi was also forced to retire. The Italian rider had to undergo medical examinations on his right leg, although his condition seemed less worrying than Martín's. In the end, he only has bruises on his leg, without major consequences.

This accident has rekindled doubts surrounding Jorge Martín's season. Physically fragile after several falls in 2025, which largely compromised his start to the season, the Madrid player could miss new matches. A broken collarbone is often quickly forgotten in MotoGP, but the next deadline, which is the Indonesian Grand Prix, will already take place in a few days in Mandalika.
