In 2024, Fabio Di Giannantonio decided to end his season prematurely, to undergo surgery on his left shoulder. After a heavy fall during the German Grand Prix, the Italian's limb prevented him from training properly, and seriously compromised his performance on the track.
He has therefore chosen to sacrifice his last two races of the year, in Malaysia and Barcelona, to be able to concentrate fully on 2025. A year full of challenges. Di Giannantonio will, in fact, be the third rider equipped with a Desmosedici GP25, which should be the best bike on the grid.
He has therefore revised his ambitions upwards for the upcoming campaign, but to do so, he must still be able to take advantage of his full physical condition. On this side, things are moving forward. In any case, this is what the Italian has been saying on his social networks over the weeks, during this winter break.
After resuming training dedicated to the mobility of his shoulder, the VR46 driver had the opportunity to follow a program in the water. The latter began two weeks after the Barcelona tests, and was the second stage of his rehabilitation program.
Di Giannantonio on time
At that time, Fabio Di Giannantonio announced that he had a lot of progress to make in order to turn the page. This week, the number 49 shared much more encouraging news. on his Instagram account.
In this new year, the main person concerned seems to have filled up on motivation when he declares: “That shoulder is coming back stronger.”
The deadlines for this return to fitness therefore seem to be met, while Di Giannantonio had promised to be present during the first runs of the year, even if he was not in top form. These will take place at the beginning of next month, in Sepang. Then, a few days later, in Buriram (Thailand).
As a reminder, his initial objective was to be 100% recovered from this mishap for the opening round of the season, which will also take place on the Buriram circuit. Where he ended his previous campaign.
