Canal+ retains IndyCar rights

The French channel announced on Wednesday that it had extended its partnership with IndyCar for several years, with races continuing to be broadcast on its channels from the first round of the championship in St. Petersburg on March 2.

The encrypted channel broadcast for the first timeIndyCar "modern" in 2014, by obtaining the rights to broadcast the Indianapolis 500 Miles on a delayed basis, before broadcasting the championship events live since 2015. The press release indicates that the contract extension is multi-year, although the exact number of seasons has not been communicated. The Canal+ Group thus continues to be very active in the field of motor sports, since it also owns the rights to the Formula 1 and MotoGP until 2029, and from WRC to 20230.

In addition to France, the international rights sold to Canal+ concern Switzerland, sub-Saharan Africa, Vietnam and Myanmar. The 2025 IndyCar season begins on March 2 in the streets of St. Petersburg, starting at 18 p.m.
