A former member of the Formula 1 turns to the Formula E : Daniil Kvyat will switch to electric for a 40-minute session. The Russian will be lined up by DS Penske during the test session for beginners, scheduled for February 13 ahead of the 3rd and 4th rounds of the championship in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia).

The old pilot Red Bull will have the role "to optimise the car's performance and evaluate set-up options ahead of the main sessions" like the other rookies involved. “I am very happy to join the team for this test. It is the first time I have driven a new generation Formula E car and I am looking forward to testing it on track.” rejoices the 30-year-old pilot. “I already know some of the faces on the team, which makes this experience even more exciting! I can’t wait to get started and see where this test takes us.”

“We are delighted to have Daniil join us for the test in Jeddah. His experience in Formula 1 and his ability to perform at the highest level will bring valuable knowledge to our team.” assures Phil Charles, assistant director of the team. “We look forward to seeing how Daniil adapts to the demands of the track and contributes to our overall preparations for the weekend.”

For Daniil Kvyat, this will be a first at the wheel of the GEN3 Evo, but the Russian already took part in a Formula E test last year in Berlin with NIO. Having moved to F1 with Toro Rosso, Red Bull and AlphaTauri, the Ufa native has a fairly light programme for the moment for 2025 and could be tempted by an arrival in Formula E.

Engaged with Lamborghini in WEC Last season, Daniil Kvyat lost his place with the withdrawal of the Italian manufacturer and will only participate in a few rounds in IMSA at the wheel of the SC63. His first outing of the year at the 24 Hours of Daytona, where he was notably associated with Romain Grosjean, ended in abandonment.
