So there were six of them (re)discovering theIndyCar on the Californian track, which hosted an exhibition round this year before being on the 2025 calendar in a fully official manner. While Logan sargeant had set the best time of the morning, it was Felipe Nasr who took the best time of the day, in 1'40″947. The Brazilian was the only driver to go under the 1'41 mark, ahead of Hunter McElrea (Ed Carpenter Racing). The latter has already raced in IndyCar in 2024, while for Nasr, his experience in the car American was limited to the official tests of the 2020 season, at Carlin. Member of the program IMSA Team Penske's Nasr was able to drive Scott McLaughlin's car, as IndyCar teams have extra test days to test rookie drivers.

This is how Logan Sargeant, who was removed from the program F1 de Williams, discovered driving an IndyCar, on behalf of Meyer Shank Racing. The American completed 84 laps, thus securing himself the place of the most assiduous driver on the track, and less than two tenths of a second behind Nasr. Louis Foster, Indy NXT champion on the track, was also there, in preparation for his first full season in IndyCar with Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing. Finally, Enzo Fittipaldi (Arrow McLaren) and Toby Sowery (Dale Coyne Racing) completed the list, but both drivers suffered problems during their test day.

"It was a very productive day", Nasr told RACER.com. “It’s one of the special things we get to do driving for Roger, transitioning between the two series, and it’s a great opportunity for us to learn from both sides. Obviously, driving the Porsche 963 hybrid, I felt a lot of things that could be transferred to IndyCar in terms of regeneration and combining it with braking zones and things like that."

It was the last major day of collective testing planned for the IndyCar teams this year, as they will be able to resume their preparations for the next season, which will start on March 2 in the streets of St. Petersburg, Florida.
