Mahindra Racing officially announces the addition of Jake Hughes as an official reserve driver and simulator driver. FE, thus completing the team's roster alongside Kush Maini, who continues to serve as Mahindra Racing's other official reserve driver.
Having participated full-time in the Formula E World Championship for three seasons, between 2023 and 2025, first for McLarenThen, for Maserati, Hughes will bring his experience to the manufacturer. With two podium finishes – in Shanghai and Jeddah – and four pole positions, the 31-year-old driver has already shone in the discipline.
Highly regarded for his technical feedback and development skills, Hughes has previously held similar positions in Formula 1 and in Formula E, working with McLaren Classic Mercedes for sale et Aston Martin in F1, and Mercedes EQ and Maserati MSG in Formula E. He has already started working on a simulator at Mahindra Racing's headquarters in Banbury (United Kingdom).
“I am eager to begin this new chapter of my Formula E career with Mahindra Racing,” the person in question confided via the official announcement. What Mahindra has built over the past few seasons is very impressive, and it's clear the team is on a very positive trajectory. I'm eager to play my part and help this team, which is one of the iconic names in the league, return to the top of the standings.
Alongside its current GEN3 Evo program, Mahindra Racing has also confirmed its long-term commitment to Formula E as a constructor under the GEN4 regulations, at least until 2030.
