Martinius Stenshorne makes his early debut with Rodin

Martinius Stenshorne's successful stint in Baku opened doors. He impressed in his debut. Formula 2 With Trident, the Norwegian qualified eighth and was at the front for much of the weekend before retiring from both races. But no matter: the protégé of McLaren had already made a strong impression by coming close to scoring points for the Italian team, which had only managed two since the start of the season thanks to Sami Meguetounif.

Ultimately, this opened the doors to Formula 2 for him after his excellent season of Formula 3 (5th, two wins, three podiums). It was Rodin who announced his arrival for 2026, where he is currently the only confirmed driver.

But his debut won't wait until next season: in Qatar and Abu Dhabi, the final rounds of the 2025 season, the Norwegian will start in place of Amaury Cordeel. The Belgian, brought in at the last minute at the beginning of the year to replace the ill Christian Mansell, has once again not had a great season. He has scored only three points this year, 127 fewer than his teammate Alex Dunne, who finished fifth in the championship and is still in contention for the title.

Furthermore, Martinius Stenshorne has left the McLaren Academy, as has his new teammate Alex Dunne. A surprising decision despite his impressive performances.
