New driver announced in Formula 3 at Hitech

It's definitely a big announcement day in Formula 3. After Tasanapol Inthraphuvasak, Brando Badoer and Noah Stromsted, it is the turn of the Chinese Gerrard Xie to confirm his presence on the grid for next year. Chinese F4 champion in 2022 and especially 7th in GB3 last year, the Hong Kong native will play in Oliver Oakes' team next season. He should participate in the end-of-season F3 tests on Tuesday and Wednesday in Jerez.

“I am delighted to be making the step up to FIA Formula 3 and doing so with Hitech,” commented the man. “It has been a great season for me and the team in GB3 and I am proud of everything we have achieved together. The results were there, but we have also had a bit of bad luck along the way which could have seen us achieve even more success in both title battles. I feel ready and hope to play a big part in ensuring that Hitech’s challenge in F3 is as strong as it has been this season.”
