Introduced last season, the Pit Boost system requires each driver to Formula E to make a pit stop during a race, in order to recharge part of its electric battery, thus allowing drivers to push harder towards the end of the race. Used notably in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, this system was generally used in the first or second race of a weekend, the two events being differentiated by this strategic addition.
On March 21st at the Jarama circuit, Formula E will contest its first "simple" E-Prix with a Pit Boost. The Madrid E-Prix on Saturday, the only race of the weekend before the Rookie Test the following day, will therefore require drivers to make a mandatory pit stop.
As with other races featuring Pit Boost, Attack Mode will be limited to a single activation during the E-Prix, lasting six minutes. Drivers will still be free to use it whenever they wish, before or after the 10% battery recharge provided by the pit stop.
