The first victory of the season for Richard Verschoor (Trident) will wait. As in Saudi Arabia last March, the Dutchman was once again disqualified for a technical infraction. In Jeddah, it was incorrect mapping of the accelerator pedal that cost him his success. This time, it was the thickness of its rear board that caught the attention of the commissioners. After verification, it turned out that it did not respect the minimum thickness, violating article 3.4.3 of the technical regulations.
As a result, it was Kush Maini (Invicta Racing) who regained first position while Victor Martins (ART Grand Prix) moved up to 2nd and Isack Hadjar (Campos) on the podium. This allows the last city, championship leader, to push back Paul Aron (Hitech GP) by 20 lengths. The Estonian should still recover 2 points this Sunday thanks to his pole position.
