Third in the qualifying session at the end of the afternoon, Dorian Pin started sixth in this first race of the weekend in F1 Academy. At the start, while Ella Lloyd made a fatal error for the rest of her race, braking too late to take the corner, the Frenchwoman showed opportunism. Second from that moment, the Prema driver quickly put pressure on Emma Felbermayr (Rodin Motorsport) before the announcement of the first safety car brought her momentum to a halt.

It was finally after a battle that lasted nearly three laps that Dorine Pin managed to get the better of the Austrian driver. Huddled in the leader's exhaust, Pin took the lead at the start of lap 5 while Felbermayr locked his tires before going wide. It was then that Aurelia Nobels (ART), Alisha Palmowski, Chloe Chambers (Campos), and Maya Weug (MP Motorsport) took advantage of this error to sneak into the front.

As she finishes this race just behind the driver supported by MercedesAlisha Palmowski made an equally spectacular comeback. Starting from seventh position, the British driver overtook Nobels before the second safety car of the race was deployed. Then, at a completely different pace to the leader, she almost snatched first place.

Among the other notable comebacks, Chloe Chambers didn't fall into the same trap as in Jeddah. Already holding pole position in Saudi Arabia, the American had remained stuck in the pack, but took the podium this Saturday on home soil. Maya Weug, who started tenth and was the championship leader before arriving in Miami, finished fourth.
