This 10e EDITION de Le Mans Classic (June 30 to July 2) will celebrate both the history of motorsport but also the future. If some of the most beautiful historic cars will grind down the tarmac of the famous Sarthe circuit, this edition will also be one of innovation since we will witness the debut of synthetic fuel in a historic competition.
At this 10e edition of Le Mans Classic, 4 cars will in fact be “ powered by these new generation fuels »: the Lotus Elite n°61 (platform 6) and the Porsche 904 Carrera GTS n°67 (plateau 4) by David Clark; the Lola T70 Mk. 3B n°35, (platform 5) of Richard & Armand Mille and the Chevron B21 n°66 (platform 6) of Carlos Tavares.
« This year, Peter Auto goes even further by signing an agreement with Aramco, world leader in integrated chemicals, say the organizers. Faithful to the basic concept of the 24 Hours of Le Mans created “to test the qualities and solidity of cars”, then “contribute to the evolution of technical progress and promote the development of the automobile” its retrospective, Le Mans Classic, becomes the first historic event to test the use of synthetic fuels by racing cars. Peter Auto and Aramco are joining forces to introduce, for the first time, the use of a new generation fuel for cars from the 1950s to 1975. » Shows that the past is still useful in preparing for the future.
